PHARR - Aaron Benavides, 47, entered eternal rest on Friday, November 3, 2023. Aaron is preceded in death by his father, Manuel Benavides Jr.

Aaron dedicated 22 years of his life to serving the community at P.SJ.A ISD. He was a loving husband, a devoted father, and a passionate sports enthusiast who cheered on the Texas Longhorns and the San Antonio Spurs with unwavering passion.

Born on August 8, 1976, Aaron brought warmth and joy into the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him. He was a loving husband to Josie, and together they shared a deep and enduring love that was an inspiration to all who knew them. As a father, Aaron was the embodiment of love and support, his children were his reason for living.

His legacy extended beyond his home, as Aaron dedicated more than two decades of his life to the P.SJ.A Independent School District. In his role, he left an incredible mark on countless students and colleagues, serving as a guiding light in their educational journey. His dedication and passion for education were evident to all who worked alongside him, making him a cherished member of the school community.

When Aaron was not shaping the minds of young learners, he could often be found passionately following the Texas Longhorns and the San Antonio Spurs. His love for sports was infectious, and he reveled in sharing this passion with friends and family. Game days were a time of joy and camaraderie for him, and his enthusiastic cheers and spirited debates will be fondly remembered by all who joined him in watching these teams play.

Aaron lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a genuine care for those around him. He touched the hearts of many and will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. While his physical presence may no longer be with us, his memory and the values he instilled in those he touched will continue to live in our hearts forever.

Rest in peace, dear friend. You will forever hold a special place in our hearts, and your memory will continue to live on forever.

Aaron is survived by his wife, Josie Benavides; 2 children, Jacob and Victoria Benavides and 3 step sons, Adrian, Joey and Adam Estrada; his parents, Rosemary and Gilbert Vazquez; 4 brothers, Leif (Miranda) Benavides, Eric (Michele Carranza) Benavides, Manuel (Catherine Garcia) Benavides III and Zechariah (Vanessa) Benavides; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Pharr, Tx. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. Celebration of Life, Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg, TX.

We invite all those who were touched by his warmth and kindness to join us in commemorating the life of a beloved husband, father, friend, and educator.

Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg, Tx.
