ADELITA TREVINO DIAZ

AUSTIN - On December 14, 2022, Adelita “Adelle” Trevino Diaz, 69, went to her eternal home with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She left this world peacefully, surrounded with love, her favorite music, great memories and with her children and family by her side.

Adelle moved from South Texas to Austin in 1989.  It is in Austin where she saw the opportunity to change the old pattern and make it new.  She married the love of her life, Joe, and together they wove a family with love and strength.  She loved Austin for all the creativity it inspired in her, the adventures and interesting things it had to offer. Adelle could always be found walking Lady Bird Lake taking photographs, with her Grandsons at Zilker Park or volunteering at The Bob Bullock Museum or the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center. While in Austin, God graced her life with so many opportunities and met so many wonderful people along the way.  Her biggest being graduating from The University of Texas at Austin. She was an avid Artist and created a world through her eyes and artwork like no other. Adelle was devoted to her family and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.  She loved everything about life and held on to hope even when all seemed lost.

Adelle will be greatly missed by her three children, Leticia Herrera (Ben), Marisela Saldivar (Cesar), and Jared Emiliano Diaz (Katy); seven grandchildren, Benjamin Andrew Herrera (Rebecca), Christian Alexander Herrera, Daniel Austin Herrera, Aiden Presley Saldivar, Jaxon Jared Diaz, Joseph Oliver Diaz, and Jacob Elliott Diaz; her siblings, Maria Dolores Trevino (Kent), Alma Estela Balderas (Ramiro), Graciela Perez (Oscar), Prisciliano Trevino, III (Margaret), Virginia Cano (Luis), and Alva Iris Trevino (Joe); numerous nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe G. Diaz, Jr. and her parents, Prisciliano Trevino, Jr. and Amparo Cavazos Trevino.

The family would like to extend its deepest gratitude to Dr. Rajesh Shetty, Dr. Lynne Knowles, Dr. Quan Dang, Liz Gorrick, Elizabeth Wade and all the staff at at Texas Oncology in Austin, Texas and Ascension Seton Hays for their constant, attentive treatment.
