Alejandro Rodriguez

January 1, 1993 — May 5, 2022

ALEJANDRO RODRIGUEZ JR. EDINBURG- Alejandro Rodriguez Jr., A small town boy turned U.S. Marine, gone so young at 28 years old on May 5, 2022. Born and raised in the small Texas town of Elsa to Maribel Loredo Ochoa and Justo Alejandro Rodriguez, before living out the rest of his teenage years in Edinburg, Tx. Alejandro, also popularly known as “A-rod” fought his way out of the struggle to defend his country in the United States Marine Corps straight out of high school. Alejandro, Alex, Rodriguez is Preceded in death by his grandparents Maria Esther Ramirez and Justo Rodriguez and Josefina Ochoa Hernandez and Hipolito Loredo Briones. Alex grew up in Elsa, Tx. Before moving to Edinburg, where he met his girlfriend, now wife, and became the first member of his family to graduate high school breaking free from all the statistical odds set against him. Even more so, enlisting in the United States Marine corps and dedicating 8 years of his life to our country where he once again experienced a complete turnaround of being the “problem marine” to becoming meritoriously promoted to Corporal and achieving the rank of Sergeant. He had a love for playing all sports but most of all basketball. He also found peace in drawing, fishing, spending time with family and friends, and continuously making new memories. Alex was a beautiful soul who had an abundance of love to offer to anyone who veered in his path. Because of his grandmothers constant reminder, Alex believed he had “un don” and a reason to be on this planet—little did he know, he was the gift. He provided everyone around him with happiness, a shoulder to lean on, and never hesitated to offer a helping hand. He provided a light to those he loved and encountered in a world built to break you down. Alejandro married his high school sweet heart and with their love created two beautiful daughters before separating from the military in 2020. Alex dedicated the rest of his years to being the best father, son, friend, and husband he could possibly before spreading his wings and flying free. Although he is no longer with us physically, he will always hold a special place in our hearts as our Hero.
