Alva Gabriela Hernandez

MCALLEN - Alva Gabriela Hernandez, 56, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, March 29, 2026, in Houston. Alva was preceded in death by her father, Alvaro Hernandez. 

Ms. Hernandez is survived by her two children, Gabriela (Cesar) Fitch, and Alan Eduardo (Jocelyn) Cavazos, three grandchildren, Pablo, Emma, and Alan; her mother, Teresa de Jesus D. Hernandez; two sisters, Adriana T. Hernandez, and Alejandra (Jeff) Burgelin; numerous nieces and nephews; her former spouse, Jesus Marines. 

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary Sunday, April 5, 2026, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Funeral mass will be at 12 noon Monday, April 6, 2026, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in McAllen. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen.

Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
