MCALLEN - Alvesa Vasquez Villarreal, 82, entered eternal rest surrounded by her family on Wednesday, December 20, 2023. Mrs. Villarreal is preceded in death by her parents, Mauro Vasquez and Adela T. Vasquez; 2 sisters, Elma De La Garza and Linda Palomo.
Mrs. Villarreal is survived by her husband, Ambrosio Villarreal; 3 children, Melissa (Martin Chavez) Villarreal, Jesus "Jesse" (Diana) A. Villarreal and Juan A. (Laura O.) Villarreal; 5 grandchildren, Jesus A. (Erika) Villarreal Jr., Jennifer A. (Adrian) Aldape, Angela (Abraham Perez) Galaviz, Joshua A. Villarreal and Michael Chavez; 3 great grandchildren, Rogelio “Chuckie” Cardenas, Lukas James Villarreal and Avery Grace Aldape; 7 siblings, Alice Reeves, Ruth Gorena, Diana Davila, Estela Losoya, Mauro Vasquez Jr., Fernando "Chalo" Vasquez and Elia Solis; numerous family and friends.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2023 with a 7 p.m. prayer service at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Iglesia Rios De Agua Viva in McAllen. Interment will follow at La piedad Cemetery in McAllen.
