Amelia Ontiveros

EDINBURG - Amelia Ontiveros, 91, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, December 31, 2023, in Edinburg surrounded by her family. Mrs. Ontiveros was preceded in death by her husband, Marcelino Ontiveros; her son, Reyes Rodriguez; two grandchildren, Rocky Rodriguez and Corina I. Hernandez; parents, Roman Rosales and Petra Celestina Salamanca; her brothers, Jose Rosales and Enrique Salamanca.

Mrs. Ontiveros is survived by her children, Ricardo (Olga) Rodriguez, Rosa Rodriguez, Roberto (Elsa) Rodriguez, Rene (Blanca) Rodriguez, Ruth (Rodolfo) Hernandez, Janie (John) Lopez, and Jessica (Roberto) Arellano; 24 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; two siblings, Manuel Salamanca, and Maria L. Salamanca; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, January 5, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.

Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
