Ana E. Tijerina

EDINBURG - Ana E. Tijerina, 70, entered eternal rest on Monday April 3, 2023, in Edinburg surrounded by her family. Mrs. Tijerina was preceded in death by her son, Otoniel Tijerina Jr.; her parents, Xavier Acuña and Virginia Ponce; two siblings, Maria Elena Guevara and Toby Tobias, and mother Maria Angela Ontiveros.

Ana was an Edinburg High School Graduate class of 1972, she attended Iglesia Bautista Monte De Sion. Ana enjoyed working at the adult day care as a driver/ attendant for her remaining working years. She loved working with the elderly, riding her three wheeler, loved turtles and seeing the outdoor nature. She loved the Lord dearly and was a adoptive mom to many.

Mrs. Tijerina is survived by her husband, Otoniel Tijerina Sr.; her children, Javier (Michelle) Acuña and Oneida (Juan) Briones; twelve grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter; three siblings, Juan Tobias, Terry Garcia and Ofelia Segura; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service Saturday, April 8, 2023, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 10, 2023, at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen.

Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
