EDINBURG - Anna Maria Arebalo, 91, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, June 25, 2024. Mrs. Arebalo is preceded in death by her parents, Bruno Lopez and Dominga Arce; her husband, Luis Arebalo; 3 children, Ana Cordova, Rodolfo Arebalo and Manuel Arebalo; three grandchildren, José Luis, Joel, José Luis Jr.; son-in-law, Carlos Lewis; siblings, Bertha Cantu, Bruno Lopez Jr., Estefana Jimenez, Estella Silva, Francisco Lopez and Toribio Lopez.
Mrs. Arebalo was the youngest in her family and was the apple of her father’s eye. Her siblings also spoiled her with love and would cater to her every need.
Mrs. Arebalo met and married Luis Arebalo, the love of her life, and raised nine children. As a mother, she was loving, caring, and inspiring to her children. They were everything to her. She enjoyed cooking and sharing her delicious meals with her loved ones.
In 1980, Mrs. Arebalo became a young widow and endured the hardships of being a single parent. She was resilient and never gave in to the trials of her life. She was positive and radiant, and made everyone feel special. She encouraged her family to succeed and to love and respect each other. She inspired her grandchildren to pursue their careers and also to prioritize their families, while upholding values of modesty and faithfulness. With her emphasis on women empowerment and biblical values, she left a positive impact on their lives and continues to inspire them daily as they live a life of strength and love. She always had positive advice for her loved ones and showed unconditional love. She was always thinking of others and showed interest in everyone she came across. Her nieces and nephews loved and saw her like a mother.
Mrs. Arebalo never failed to capture the attention of the room with her captivating stories of the past. She was always ready to give what she had, no matter how much or little it was. She gave the most genuine, heartwarming love one could imagine. She was strong, fierce and fearless, and She was not afraid to use her voice. She was the CEO, the Captain, the Queen Bee! She had a big job, her family. She was the ultimate good Tia, as she grew older and as her siblings were gone she would be on the phone, checking up on her nieces and nephews, making sure they knew how much she loved them.
Mrs. Arebalo’s life was a testament to resilience and strength, as she endured every hardship with grace and determination. She was always welcoming everyone with a smile, a big hug with her strong arms, and always with delicious food, that she herself made to enjoy.
Mrs. Arebalo left behind valuable lessons that her loved ones will continue to live by and pass down to their future generations.
Mrs. Arebalo is survived by her six children, Jose Luis (Nora) Arebalo, Irma Lewis, Cristina (Jesus) Cordova, Magdalena (Fidel) Perez, Ruperto (Mary) Arebalo and Armando Arebalo; two daughters-in-law, Viola, and Lilia; a son-in-law, Anthony Cordova; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary, Sunday, June 30, 2024, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m Monday, July 1, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
Funeral service are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
