Antonio Martinez Jr.

Antonio Martinez, Jr., 81, of Edinburg, Texas, entered eternal rest on November 4,2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 6, 1944, to the late Antonio Martinez, Sr. and Dionicia Martinez, who preceded him in death.

Antonio was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose quiet strength, humor, and kindness touched everyone who knew him. He was married to his beloved wife, Eva Martinez for 62 years, and together they built a lifetime filled with love, faith, and family gatherings that brought joy to all who knew them.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his son, Colonel Ricardo Martinez (Sonia). Antonio is survived by his loving wife, Eva Martinez, and his children: Antonio Martinez III (Criselda), Patricia Martinez, and Minerva Martinez.

He was a proud grandfather to Miguel Gauna, Patrick Falcon, Crystal Martinez-Garcia, Nyomi Martinez, Tony Martinez IV, Joshua Ruiz, Danielle Ruiz, Aissa Martinez-Simmons, and Ricardo Martinez, and a great-grandfather to Lylarose Garcia and Atlas Armando Antonio Garcia.

Antonio’s life was blessed with many siblings, nephews and nieces who provided endless support, love, and encouragement throughout his life, but especially in his final days. Their compassion, presence, and willingness to help in every way possible were a true reflection of the love shared within the Martinez Family. The devotion they showed to Antonio and his family is something deeply treasured and will never be forgotten. This is what a true family is. “Once a Martinez, always a Martinez.”

Antonio’s faith was the cornerstone of his life. He believed in the promises of God and found comfort in the words of Scripture:

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul.” – Psalm 23:1–3

He will be remembered for his strength, humility, and unconditional love for his family. Antonio leaves behind a legacy of faith and family that will continue to guide and inspire those who loved him.

The family of Antonio Martinez, Jr. extends heartfelt gratitude to all who have shown kindness, prayers, and support during this time.
