MCALLEN — Arthur Garay Gonzalez, de 60 años, entró al descanso eterno el jueves 7 de mayo de 2026 en McAllen. Un hombre de energía inagotable y espíritu emprendedor, Arthur dejó una huella imborrable tanto en su comunidad como en su familia.

Arthur fue un empresario visionario que se enorgullecía de sus diversos proyectos profesionales. Entre sus logros más destacados, fue uno de los pilares fundadores de los RGV Silverados, ayudando a traer un nuevo nivel de deporte y entretenimiento al Valle del Río Grande.

Su pasión por los deportes fue una característica que definió su vida; era un entusiasta ávido que encontraba alegría en la competencia y el compañerismo de cualquier disciplina. Nunca conformándose con ser un espectador, Arthur se mantuvo como un atleta activo durante toda su vida, alcanzando recientemente el impresionante hito de obtener su Cinta Negra en Jiu-Jitsu.

Más allá del ámbito deportivo, el corazón de Arthur pertenecía a los viajes y a la naturaleza. Fue un viajero incansable que atesoraba cada aventura compartida con su familia. • Su amada esposa: Loretta Lee Gonzalez.

• Sus tres hijos: Fue el padre dedicado de Jordan J. Gonzalez, David E. F. Gonzalez y Erik A. Gonzalez.

• Sus hermanos: Elizabeth (George) Claudio, Teresa (Cesar) Martinez y Camelia Martinez.

• Familia extendida: También le sobreviven numerosos sobrinos y sobrinas que extrañarán su guía y su entusiasmo por la vida.

El velorio tendrá lugar de 5:00 p. m. a 8:00 p. m., con una Celebración de la Vida a las 6:00 p. m., el sábado 16 de mayo de 2026, en Legacy Chapels, ubicada en 4610 South Jackson Road, en Edinburg.

MCALLEN — Arthur Garay Gonzalez, 60, entered eternal rest on Thursday, May 7, 2026, in McAllen. A man of boundless energy and entrepreneurial spirit, Arthur left an indelible mark on his community and his family.

Arthur was a visionary businessman who took great pride in his various professional endeavors. Most notably, he was one of the founding pillars of the RGV Silverados, helping to bring a new level of sports and entertainment to the Rio Grande Valley.

His passion for sports was a defining characteristic of his life; he was an avid enthusiast who found joy in the competition and camaraderie of any game. Never one to sit on the sidelines, Arthur remained an active athlete throughout his life, recently achieving the impressive milestone of earning his Black Belt in Jiu-Jitsu.

Beyond the arena, Arthur’s heart belonged to the open road and the great outdoors. He was a seasoned world traveler who cherished every adventure shared with his family. He was also on a personal quest to experience the majesty of nature, dedicated to a journey to visit every National Park in the country.

Family and Legacy

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco Gonzalez Amezcua and Emma Garay.

His legacy of strength and devotion lives on through his family:

• His beloved wife: Loretta Lee Gonzalez.

• His three sons: He was the devoted father of Jordan J. Gonzalez, David E. F. Gonzalez, and Erik A. Gonzalez.

• His siblings: Elizabeth (George) Claudio, Teresa (Cesar) Martinez, and Camelia Martinez.

• Extended Family: He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who will miss his guidance and zest for life.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. Celebration of Life on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg.

Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
