MCALLEN - Arturo Perez, 81, went to be with our Lord on Monday May 26, 2025, in McAllen. Mr. Perez was preceded in death by parents, Arturo Perez and Alta Gracia Peña; granddaughter, Lisa Jo Rawlings; sister, Guadalupe Perez; brother-in-law, Juan Guerrero; grandmother, Severita Peña Guzman; aunt, Hilaria Arredondo; mother and father in law, Primitivo Alfaro Alvarez, and Mariana Alfaro Sosa.
Arturo was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. He will be remembered for his generous heart, joyful spirit, and the deep love he gave so freely to those around him. Arturo was a devoted family man. Though he was the proud father of two daughters, he shared his fatherly love with his grandchildren, playing a meaningful role in their lives and guiding them with the same care and affection. His family was always his top priority, and he showed it in every word, gesture, and smile. He had a lifelong love of music and found peace behind the wheel of his truck. Arturo often combined these two passions by taking relaxing drives or joyfully transporting his grandchildren to school and practices — always with music playing and a smile on his face. These everyday moments became cherished memories for those who rode beside him.
Arturo also had a true gift for cooking. His tacos were known and loved by all more than just a meal, they were a symbol of his hospitality and love. His food was so yummy it warmed the soul and filled many bellies. Known for his quick wit, playful jokes, and unmistakable spunk, Arturo had a way of bringing joy wherever he went. His lighthearted humor and lively personality made people feel at ease, and he never missed a chance to make someone laugh. Arturo’s presence could brighten any room, and his kindness and charisma left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
He was a devoted and loving husband to Maria Ines Perez, with whom he shared countless beautiful memories. Their bond was built on love, laughter, and unwavering commitment. Arturo’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends. His legacy of love, generosity, and joy lives on in those who were fortunate to know and love him.
Mr. Perez is survived by his wife, Maria Inez Perez Alfaro; his daughters, Maria Esmeralda Perez, and Ruby Perez; grandchildren, Izabella Oralit Gomez, Jose Demetrio Gomez , Aries Ian Rawlings, Damien Josiah Gomez , and Yahir Malachi Gomez; five siblings, Maria Hernandez Perez (Ramon Hernandez), Arminda Pacheco Perez (Raul Pacheco), Jose Maria Perez (Etelvina Perez), Martin Perez Palacios (Rosalinda Perez), and Alma Guadalupe Perez (Josaphat Tirado); numerous nieces and nephews.
