EDINBURG - Carmen Gamboa, 97, entered eternal rest on Friday, March 29, 2024. Ms. Gamboa is preceded in death by her parents, Adrian and Roberta Gamboa; 3 brothers, David, Jesus and Mike Gamboa; 3 sisters, Luz, Francisca and Magdalena Gamboa.
Ms. Gamboa lived a long life and dedicated to her family, church, and many life long friends. Ms. Gamboa was called to join her family in paradise by our Lord and Savior. She was the last survivor of her immediate family. She passed on to be with our Lord on Good Friday. She will be missed by those who have had the pleasure to meet her, but she is now with her family rejoining in the presence of Jesus Christ.
Ms. Gamboa occupation was in education. She started in the Edinburg School District as a teacher. She relocated to Austin, Tx where she continued to teach and soon after become an administrator in the Austin School District until she retired after 35 years of service. Ms. Gamboa returned to Edinburg to be with her family in the late 90's. She lived with her days in happiness with her brothers and sisters until it was time for her to join her family in Paradise.
Ms. Gamboa is survived by her two nephews, Robert and Edward Gamboa; numerous family and friends.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary, Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Chapel service will be at 12 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Legacy Chapels in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission.
Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
