Cynthia Gutierrez

EDINBURG EDINBURG - On Thursday July 16th, 2020, Cynthia Gutierrez, loving mother of two children and two grandchildren, passed away at age of 65. Cynthia was born on January 29, 1955 in Falfurrias, TX to Porfirio and Melchora (Gonzalez) Ayarzagoitia. She received her degree from University of Texas at Pan American in 2009. She raised two children, Edwardo and Angelica and two grandchildren, Eric Anthony and Aidan. Cynthia had a passion for helping people. She did everything from teaching and shaping young minds as a teacher to helping family and friends with income taxes and finances. She was an inspiration to all, amazing woman, loving mother and incredible grandmother. She was known for her big heart, infectious smile and uplifting spirit. Cynthia was preceded in death by her father, Porfirio, and her mother, Mel. She is survived by her two children, Eddie (Katie) and Angie, grandchildren, Eric and Aidan, her sister Star, her brothers, Ernest, Marcus and Steve, and niece Stephanie. A viewing service will be held on Sunday, July 26th, 2020 at Legacy Chapels in Edinburg at 1 o’clock to 6 o’clock p.m. She will be cremated and her ashes will be spread in Hawaii. In lieu of flowers, plants or donations will be accepted.
