LA JOYA - David Salinas, 78, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 in Edinburg. Mr. Salinas is preceded in death by his spouse, Dalia Salinas; parents, Juan de Dios Salinas, and Zulema Garza; two siblings, Fernando (Mary Ellen) Salinas, and Juan de Dios (Dora) Salinas Jr..

Mr. Salinas is survived by his former wife, Imelda Salinas; three children, John David (Brenda) Salinas, Cesar Xavier (Irma) Salinas, and Adriana Fidela ( Isaac Uhling) Salinas; six grandchildren, Cesar Xavier (Vanessa) Salinas Jr., Kailyn Nicole (Brandon Leal) Salinas, Jacob Noah Salinas, Brianna Jenelle Salinas, Easton Elijah Sierra, and Caylee Zanah Salinas; two grandchildren, Brandon Nicolas Leal, and Cesar Xavier Salinas III (Expected January 2027); four siblings, Oscar (Ruby+) Salinas, Jose Adolfo (Mary) Salinas, Elma (Nick) Salinas Garza, and Josefina (Coco) Salinas Villarreal; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Celebration of Life, Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Chapel service will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday, October 9, 2026, at Legacy Chapels. Inurnment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.

Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
