EDINBURG - Diane Marie Valenzuela, 69, went to be with our Lord on Monday, October 5, 2026, in Edinburg surrounded by her family. Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Lorraine Caiazzo; her sister, Linda Caiazzo.
Mrs. Valenzuela is survived by her husband, Alphonso A. Valenzuela; six children, Lisa Kiel, Ellen (Mathew) Russell, Ricky (Lauren) Hebson, Nicole (Issac) Garcia, Sarah Elandrea Hebson, Samuel Valenzuela; thirteen grandchildren, Frank, Marisa, Mario, Angelina, Rosalie, Alexis, Gabby, Lily, Sunny, Anthony, Jacob, Shawn, and Sadie; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
She lived a life marked by faith, compassion, music, and love for her family. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, nurse, and woman of God, she leaves behind a legacy that will continue through the many lives she touched. As a pediatric oncology nurse, she dedicated herself to caring for children facing some of life’s most difficult battles, offering compassion and tenderness to those who needed it most. Her love for music was another beautiful expression of her faith. A self-taught keyboard player, she shared her musical gifts in church, worshipping the Lord with a heart devoted to Him.
Diane shared 26 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Al, and together they built a life filled with family and cherished memories. Her greatest legacy lives on through her six children, 13 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, each carrying a part of her story forward. Above all, she loved the Lord and found joy in worshipping Him. Her faith was an important part of who she was, and her life reflected a heart for serving others, both through her profession and within her family.
Though she will be deeply missed, the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the faith she carried will remain a lasting part of her legacy. Her family takes comfort in knowing that her earthly journey has ended, but her eternal life with the Lord has begun. “Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
