Dora Jean Sanchez

McAllen - Dora Jean Sanchez, born on June 15, 1957 in Union City, California, passed away at the age of 69, on the morning of September 5, 2026, in Houston, Texas, after a seven-month battle with leukemia that she fought side by side with her husband, David. She was the founder of de Sanchez Day Spa and Salon. Celebrated for her warmth and her gift for making people feel cared for, Dora Jean built the salon alongside David in 1998 and grew it into a place her clients returned to for decades. She was a businesswoman who was loved by many.

She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend to many. She will be dearly missed and we will cherish our memories with her forever.

Dora Jean is survived and will be greatly missed by her husband, David Sanchez; her children, David Omar (spouse Vanessa), Margarita Araceli (spouse Carlos), and Lorenzo Luis (spouse Mariela); and her grandson, Marcelo Luis, who was her pride and joy.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service on Sunday September 13, 2026, at Legacy Chapels 4610 S. Jackson Rd. in Edinburg. Chapel service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, September 14, 2026, at Legacy Chapels in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission.

Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
