EDINBURG - Felix P. Navarro, 73, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 28, 2023 with his family by his side. Mr. Navarro was preceded in death by his parents, Domingo Navarro and Enriqueta Pablo; his older brother, Hipolito Navarro. His legacy lives on through his loving family and his inspirational testimony. He was a beloved husband, devoted father and father-in-law, a cherished grandfather, supportive uncle and a respected member of the Filipino community.
Mr. Navarro was born on May 18, 1950 in Malasiqui Pangasinan, Philippines, he was the son of Domingo Navarro and Enriqueta Pablo. His early life was marked by obtaining his college degree from Feati University and worked at Admiral Hotel in Manila. In July of 1992, he immigrated to the United States with his family and moved in their first home in McAllen, Texas. Eventually, the Navarro family settled in Edinburg, Texas. He worked as a mailman for the United States Postal Service for over 10 years.
Felix enjoyed gardening, chicken farming, watching sports (Go Spurs Go, Go Cowboys), and caring for his pets over the years but most recently, his sweet chihuahua, Coco. He loved spending time with his dear friends and family, going to numerous gatherings and especially ones where he got the chance to host and prepare his many specialties (he made the best caldereta). Most importantly, his faith in God never wavered, not once. Felix trusted in the Lord in every way possible.
Mr. Navarro is survived by his wife of 45 years, Agripina G. Navarro; three children, Maricel N. (Dr. Gregory D.) Maxey, Madelaine N. (Curtis L.) Spillman and Felix G. (Lisette A.) Navarro Jr.; 4 grandchildren, Gregory D. Maxey Jr., Caitlin M. Maxey, Jack N. Spillman and Karen N. Spillman; numerous family and friends.
Felix touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the honor of knowing him. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered for his kindness, humor, and unwavering love.
Memorial Service will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg, TX.
He will forever remain in our hearts and memories.
