Fred Charles Syvertsen

EDINBURG - Fred Charles Syvertsen, 73, went to be with our Lord on Monday, January 8, 2024, in Edinburg surrounded by his family. Mr. Syvertsen was preceded in death by his parents, John and Carolyn Syvertsen; former wife, Mary Jane Syvertsen.

Fred is survived by his wife, Blanca Doris Syvertsen; six children, Edith Osio, Julie Smithwick, John Kelly (Michelle) Hirlas, Dominga (Bob) Gonzalez, Eddie (Alba) Hirlas, and Carmen (Miguel) De La Rosa; 16 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; his brother, John William Syvertsen Jr.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Chapel service will be at 8:30 a.m. Friday, January 12, 2024, at Legacy Chapels in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission with full military honors.

Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
