EDINBURG- Gerardo Dobao, 80, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, in . Mr. Dobao was preceded in death by his parents, Guillermo Dobao, and Manuela Dobao, sibling Antonio Dobao.

Mr. Dobao is survived by Gloria Olvera; eight children, Desiree Montalvo Dobao, Gerardo "Jerry" Dobao, Melinda Giffen Frater, Michelle Dobao, Ivan Calderon, Areli Garcia, Bryan Dobao, and Eneida Dobao; four teen grandchildren,  Meghan Henthorn, Robert Montalvo Jr., Samantha Dobao, Nicholas Dobao, Ivan Calderon Jr., Israel Calderon, Angel Garcia, Giovanni Garcia, Yahaira Garcia, Diego Melendez, Bryan Elliot Dobao, Brianna Dobao, Brielle Dobao, and Liam Connors; two great grandchildren, Jameson Henthorn, and Harper Henthorn; two siblings, Digna Eneida Dobao, and Guillermo Dobao; numerous nieces and nephews

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Chapel service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 22, 2026, at Legacy Chapels. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. 

Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
