EDINBURG - Guillermo Garza Jr., 73, entered eternal rest on Monday, April 21, 2025. Mr. Garza is preceded in death by his parents, Guillermo Garza and Rita Tamez; two sisters, Irma Ruiz and Guadalupe Cruz; 1 daughter, JoAnn Garza

Mr. Garza was a hardworking man who provided for his family. Despite him being a truck driver, there wasn't a time his love never failed to be felt and seen. Through the eyes of his children that was their best friend, a gental kind soul who spread warmth in all directions. With a quiet demeanor, he was quite the conversationalist who loved to joke around, tell stories where he went, and lent his shoulder to anyone in need. More than anything, Mr. Garza was a protector, someone who made everyone around him feel safe, valued, and deeply loved. No matter if related, friends would be treated as one of his own and creating a safe space where anyone could call home and family. Selfless and loving, he always put others before himself, making sure his family and friends were cared for in every way. The patience he possessed created an energy on how reliable he was and his accommodating nature made people feel instantly at ease. He taught people skills he had from dancing, driving his big trucks, and how to joke around. His laugh and smile were contagious. You couldn't help but be happy with him.

Mr. Garza is survived by his wife, Maria Garza; 4 children, Ray, Leeroy, Ronnie and Joseph Garza; 9 grandchildren, Leeroy Garza Jr., Jay (Emily) Garza, Isaiah (Melanie) Garza, Kody Garza, Legend Garza, Andru Garza, Allisha Trevino,  Alexis Trevino, and Genesis Dufresne; two siblings, Rafael and Juan Garza; one daughter in law, Chely Dufresne; numerous family and friends.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg.

Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
