Juan Ortiz

MCALLEN - Juan Ortiz, 92, went to be with our Lord on Friday, January 16, 2026, in McAllen. Mr. Ortiz was preceded in death by his son, Martin Ortiz; parents, Gabino and Consuelo Ortiz; seven siblings, Higinia Ortiz, Gabriel Ortiz, Herlinda Mascote, Bernardina Camarena, Catalina Chavez, Isabel Silva, and Jose Apolinar Ortiz.

Mr. Ortiz is survived by his wife, Luz Maria Ortiz; ten children, Juana (Francisco) Guerra, Cita L. (Reynaldo) Quiñones, Tany (Angela) Ortiz, Silvia (Jorge) Carrizales, Reynaldo (Araceli) Ortiz, Eugenio A. (Janie) Ortiz, Connie (John Valenzuela) Ortiz, Gabino (Sonia) Oritz, Baldy (Hilda) Ortiz, and Juan (Abby) Ortiz Jr.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two siblings, Quintin Ortiz and Ester Cedillo; numerous nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Juan Diego Catholic Church in McAllen. Interment will follow at La Piedad Cemetery in McAllen. 

Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
