Alamo- Juanita Medina, born on October 7th 1933 to Seferino and Santos Garcia, passed away at her residence in Alamo on Tuesday, July 02, 2013. Mrs. Medina is preceded in death by two sons: Rolando and Jorge Medina, three daughters: Natalia Medina, Maria Santos and Thelma Lucinda Medina and her parents, in addition to numerous brothers and sisters. She leaves behind her caring and devoted husband of 61 years, Jesus Medina. Nine children; Delinda Garcia (Rolando), Rosa Maria Rodriguez (Jose Luis), Thelma Ortiz, Jose Ruben Medina (Marisela), Marisela Medina, Sandra Medina, Jovita Garcia (Juan), Sergio Medina and David Medina. She is also survived by one sister, Yolanda Gomez. The family will receive friends between the hours of three o'clock and nine o'clock in the evening on Thursday, July 4th 2013 at Legacy Chapels, 4610 S. Jackson Rd., in Edinburg. A Rosary will be prayed at seven o'clock in the evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at two o'clock in the afternoon on Friday, July 5th 2013 at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow in Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Pallbearers will be Jose Ruben Medina, Jr., Joe Salinas, David Medina, Mario R. Ortiz, Victor H., and Rolando Garcia III, Honorary Pallbearers will be Jorge Jesus Medina, Jose Ruben Medina, Sr., and Sergio Victoriano Medina. Funeral Services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
