EDINBURG - Juanita Magdalena Villarreal, lovingly known as “Magda,” was born on September 2, 1962 in Rio Bravo, Mexico. After 63 years of life, she passed away on March 19, 2026 at her home in Edinburg, Texas surrounded by her loved ones.
Juanita was a loving, kind, and incredibly intelligent woman. Known for her generous heart and faithful spirit, Juanita was loved by all who knew her. As a proud Mexican immigrant and first generation university graduate, Juanita was a beacon of strength and determination. Above all, Juanita loved her family. Her husband, children, and granddaughter filled her heart and she did everything she could to support their happiness. Magda was the matriarch of her family. She was the oldest of six siblings who she loved and cared for deeply. She loved her nieces and nephews like they were her own children.
Juanita is survived by her three children; Roberto Villarreal Jr., Alyssa Villarreal, and Gabriela (Maxanthony) Aguilar; and her treasured granddaughter Alyna May Aguilar. She is also survived by her five siblings Norma (Jesus) Salazar, Rafael (Sylvia Hinojosa) Muñoz, Jose Constantino (Laura) Muñoz, Juan Francisco (Yolanda) Muñoz, and Marta Neli (Arnulfo) Salinas.
