Luis Angel Cantu

MCALLEN - Luis Angel Cantu, 80, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, in McAllen. Mr. Cantu was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Cantu Fernandez; his son, Luis Angel Cantu Jr.; parents, Manuel and Maria De La Luz Cantu; a sister, Socorro Garcia, 

Mr. Cantu is survived by his four children, Sulema (Rafael) Garcia, Angelica (Jose Juan) Carranco, Jaime (Alma) Cantu, and Reynol Cantu; five grandchildren, Alexandra (Jacob) Hinojosa, Javier Alberto Vargas, Crystal L (Luis Perez) Crispin, Caylynn L. Carranco, and Cathrynn L. Carranco; three great-grandchildren, Cristian Mateo Hinojosa, Luis Eliseo Perez, and Carolina Lyann Perez; two siblings, Juan Manuel Cantu, Rebecca Lozano; numerous nieces and nephews. 

Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday August 16, 2025, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in McAllen. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary Saturday August 16, 2025, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. 

Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
