Magdalena "Nena" Garza

EDINBURG - Magdalena "Nena" M. Garza went to be with our Lord on Friday, August 28, 2026, in McAllen surrounded by family and loved ones. A caring and welcoming woman, Nena will be dearly missed by her loved ones. As a long time member of El Buen Pastor UMC, her faith and dedication to serving others were important to Nena. She spent her work career helping others access health services and healthcare education programs. 

Nena was always ready to offer a smile, hug, joke, story, or other comfort to anyone in need. She is preceded in death by her parents, Maria and Ramon Morales Sr., siblings, Carmen Morales, Ramon Morales Jr., Margarita Carroll, and nephew, Ramon Morales III.

Mrs. Garza is survived by her husband of 64 years, Moises C. Garza; her daughter Myra (Johnny) Zapata; a granddaughter Miranda (Emmanuel) Fiscal; brothers, Philip F. (Judith) Morales and Florentino "Nick" Morales; her sister in law Francisca Morales; a niece, Venessa (John Paul) Sembrat, and nephews Marco Antonio Morales and Shane (Yvonne) Morales, and many other extended family.

Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. with a 6 p.m. Celebration of Life service on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at El Buen Pastor United Methodist Church, 705 E University Drive in Edinburg, TX.

Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
