RIO GRANDE CITY - Maria Lydia Escobar, 58, entered eternal rest on Saturday, February 3, 2024. Ms. Escobar is preceded in death by her parents; Manuel Maria Escobar and Ninfa Victoria Garza Escobar; her brother, Manuel Maria Escobar, Jr.
Ms. Escobar lived her entire life in Rio Grande City, Texas.
Ms. Escobar is survived by her son, Jorge (Berenice) Bazan, Jr.; two granddaughters, Sara Fernanda and Maryam Adeline; three brothers, Homero Escobar, Heron Escobar (Bradford L. Hood), Roberto Escobar; numerous family and friends.
Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. with a 4 p.m. Celebration of Life service followed by a rosary on Friday, February 9, 2024, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
