Maria Matilde Cardenas
MCALLEN - Maria Matilde Cardenas, 66, entered eternal rest on Saturday, October 17, 2026 in Edinburg. Mrs. Cardenas is preceded in death by her parents, Domingo Sotelo and Matilde Rios; son, Juan (Johnny) Cardenas; brother Ramon Sotelo.
Mrs. Martinez is survived by her former husband Juan Cardenas; two children, Jacob Cardenas, and Joshua (Claire) Cardenas; two grandchildren, Vivian Jade Cardenas, and Catalian Maria Cardenas; eight siblings, Domingo Noe Sotelo, Cruz Sotelo, Jorge Sotelo, Adelina Avelos, Jesus Sotelo, Gilberto Sotelo, Raul Sotelo, and Diana Sotelo.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Celebration of Life, Monday, October 26, 2026, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
