MARIA GUADALUPE "LUPITA" CHAVEZ PHARR - Maria Guadalupe "Lupita" Chavez, 76, went to be with our Lord, Saturday March 5, 2016, in McAllen surrounded by her family. Born in La Rusias, Texas she had lived in Pharr most of her life. She is preceded in death by her parents, Rafael and Beatriz Rivera. Lupita is survived by her husband of 61 years, Isidro Chavez; two children, Miguel (Noemi) Chavez and Christina (Arturo) Barron; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ramon and Juan Rivera; a sister, Aurora Rivera; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 3pm to 9pm with a 7pm prayer service, Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Rd in Edinburg. Chapel service will be at 2pm Thursday, March 10, 2016, at Legacy Chapels. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
