EDINBURG - Maria De La Luz Hernandez, 94, entered eternal rest on Saturday, March 25, 2023, in Edinburg. Mrs. Hernandez was preceded in death by her husband, Eligio Hernandez Serrato; daughter, Esther Hernandez; parents, Pedro Davila and Concepcion Hernandez; brother, Leopoldo (Virginia) Davila; sister, Juanita (Oscar) Davila; brother-in-law, Manuel Silva; daughter-in-law, Margarita Hernandez.

Mrs. Hernandez is survived by her children, Anselmo (Elida) Hernandez, Jose Eligio Hernandez, San Juanita (Herculano) Aleman, Concepcion (Martin) Zapata, Martin G. (Olivia) Hernandez, Tomas (San Juana) Hernandez, and Luis Alberto (Ana Luz) Hernandez; 23 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; sister, Matilde Davila de Silva; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Tuesday, March 28. 2023, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Chapel service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at Legacy Chapels in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Garden of Angels Cemetery in Mission.

Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
