Maria Elena Gonzalez

EDINBURG - Maria Elena Gonzalez, 84, lovingly known as "Nena," was a light in our lives - full of humor, heart, and unwavering love. As an aunt, she was the kind of person who made every moment brighter with her laughter and warmth. Her fun-loving spirit and generous heart created memories we will treasure for a lifetime. Mrs. Gonzalez was preceded in death by her husband, Santana Gonzalez; her parents, Juan and Leonisia Garcia; two siblings, Juan Garcia, and Mary Lou Sanders.

Nena and our mother shared a deep bond, and through their example, they taught us the importance of love, loyalty, and family. That Legacy lives on in each of us. We are grateful beyond words for everything Nena did for us during her time here on Earth. Her strength, kindness, and devotion touched us in profound ways. Being by her side through life's most difficult moments was never a question - it was an honor. We will never leave her, just as she never left us. Nena, you are forever in our hearts. Love Forever, Roel, Estrella, and Laura Iris. 

Mrs. Gonzalez is survived by her nephew, Roel (Hannah) Garcia, two nieces, Estrella (Charles) Garcia-James, Laura (Roland) Garcia; great nieces and nephews, Emily, Gavin, Gabrielle, Abigail, Saint, Jezziah, Alysandra, and Daleza. 

Private services will be held at a later date.

Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
