PHARR - Maria D. Martinez De Torres, 69, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, in Edinburg. Mrs. Torres was preceded in death by her parents, Joaquin Martinez, and Juana Maria Martinez Balderas.

Mrs. Torres is survived by her wife, two children, Alejandro Garcia, and Sofia Houston; one grandchildren, Isabella Houston; Thirteen siblings, Maria Socorro (Armando) Bailon, Maria Martha (Mario) Ayala, Maria Gloria (Ramon) Cortez, Maria Laura (Mario) Salgado, Fatima (Ramon) Sanchez, Maria Guadalupe (Jose) Avalos, Maria Rosario Martinez, Pedro (Julie) Martinez, Maria Del Carmen Martinez, Rebecca Martinez, Veronica Martinez, and Joaquin Martinez. 

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 6 p.m. prayer on Tuesday September 15, 2026, at Legacy Chapels 4610 S. Jackson Rd. in Edinburg.

Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
