Martha H. Gonzalez

Edinburg- Martha H. Gonzalez, born on July 29, 1949 in Edinburg to Concepcion and Bernarda Hernandez, passed away on November 2, 2014 at Life Care Hospital in McAllen. Martha's hobbies included baking for her family, and making tamales during the holiday season. Mrs. Gonzalez retired from Tropical of Texas with over 20 years of service and was currently employed with Hidalgo County Clerk's office. She is preceded in death her father, Concepcion; maternal grandmother, Brijida Martinez; siblings, Rosario Ramirez and Luis Hernandez and mother-in-law Victoria Gonzalez. She is survived by her devoted husband, Juan G. Gonzalez; son: Gilberto (Ana Lisa) Gonzalez, daughter: Cynthia A. Gonzalez; grandchildren: Gilbert Gonzalez, Jr., Victoria A. Gonzalez, Nikolas A. Garza and Sibylla M. Alvarez; her mother, Bernarda N. Hernandez, siblings: Raul (Stephanie) Hernandez, Dolores (Tony) Canales, Alicia Salinas, Magdalena Hinojosa, Lupita Hernandez, Connie Hernandez, Ana (Albert) Alvarez, Maricela Hernandez; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 from 1:00pm to 9:00pm with a 7:00pm rosary at Legacy Funeral Home, 4610 S. Jackson Rd, in Edinburg. Funeral Mass will be at 2:00pm on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Serving as pallbearers will be, Gilberto Gonzalez, Jr., Daniel Gonzalez, Jr., Marcos Sanchez, Ruben Gonzalez, Jr., Artemio Hinojosa, Jonas Hernandez. Honorary pallbearers will be, Eloy Canales, Albert Lee Gonzalez, Luis Hernandez, II., and Nikolas A. Garza. The family is in the care of Legacy Funeral Home in Edinburg.
