Marvin Dean Rogers

EDINBURG - Marvin Dean Rogers, 86, of Pharr, Texas, passed away peacefully at DHR Health Hospice in Edinburg, Texas on Thursday, November 20, 2025. He was born on October 23, 1939, in Rusk, Texas, to Eldred and Iris Rogers. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Carl Wayne Rogers.

After graduating from Rusk High School, Marvin served in the National Guard before beginning his career at Bealls Department Store as a clerk. Over the years, he worked his way up to store manager, eventually retiring after holding management roles at several Bealls locations. Outside of work, Marvin had a love for playing cards, pulling playful pranks, and cruising around in his golf cart to visit friends. He also had a special affection for the family pets Ricca and Dexter who brought him great joy and companionship.

Marvin is survived by his wife of 42 years, Pam, who was by his side through highs and lows; his daughters, Debbie Whitten and husband Tom, and Dena McCord and husband Kirby, along with his cherished goddaughter, Karla Garcia, who held a special place in his heart. Marvin was a proud grandfather to Garrison (Hannah), Hailey, Cooper, and Hensley, He loved hearing about their latest shenanigans and always took their side; a brother, Frank Rogers (Kathy), his sisters, Linda Rogers, Gail Moore (Michael), and Joyce Jones (Bobby), his mother-in-law Jean Pierce, sister-in-law Vicki Rogers, and his dear friends, Dave and Pat Gadson.

A private family service will take place at a later date.

Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
