MISSION - Matias Zarate, 60, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. Mr. Zarate is preceded in death by his parents, Braulio Zarate and Esperanza Zarate Garza; 1 sister, Carmen Zarate Sosa; 1 brother, Olavo Zarate.

Mr. Zarate is survived by his wife, Maria I. Zarate Alvarado; 3 children, Myhra A. Zarate, Mason A. Zarate and Mathew A. Zarate; 5 siblings, Nieves Zarate (Alejandro) Garcia, Annabelle Zarate Lopez, Braulio (San Juana) Zarate Jr., Luis A. (Maria) Zarate and Martin (Melinda) Zarate; numerous family and friends.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 6 p.m. prayer service and a 7 p.m. rosary Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg.

Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
