Miguel Arturo Martinez

MCALLEN - Miguel Arturo Martinez, 68, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, in McAllen surrounded by his family. Miguel was preceded in death by his parents, Arturo (Araceli) Martinez, and Lupita Calvillo; his grandparents, whom raised him, Jesus and Adelina F. Martinez.

Miguel Arturo Martinez, a man whose life was defined by devotion, grit, and an unmistakable love for the outdoors, passed away surrounded by those who meant the most to him. He was a steadfast presence for his family and friends, someone who showed up, stood strong, and made every gathering feel a little fuller. He found joy in the simple, honest things: sunsets on the water with a fishing rod in hand, quiet stretches of woods during hunting season, the rhythm and discipline of boxing, the freedom of the open road on his motorcycle, and the music that moved his spirit. These weren’t just hobbies to him, they were the places where he felt most alive, most himself, and most connected to the world he cherished.

To his family, he was a protector, a teacher, and a source of unwavering love. To his friends, he was the kind of man you could count on without hesitation. His laughter, his stories, and his steady presence will be remembered long after the echoes of his adventures fade. He leaves behind a legacy of loyalty, courage, and deep affection for the people and passions that shaped his life. Though he has ridden on to a new horizon, his spirit remains with all who loved him.

Mr. Martinez is survived by his former spouse, Eva Martinez; three children, Miguel Alexis Martinez, Miguel Arturo (Laura) Martinez Jr., Monica Alyssa Martinez; four grandchildren, Mya, Adrian, Susan, and Madisyn; five great-grandchildren, Evan, Malakai, Matthew, Mallory, and Elianna; two sisters, Sandra Calvillo, and Marisol (Dana) Martinez; uncle, Jesus (Sylvia) Martinez; aunt, Alicia Solares; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
