Ninfa Saavedra

MCALLEN - Ninfa Saavedra, 90, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, September 17, 2026, in McAllen. Mrs. Saavedra was preceded in death by her husband, Gregorio Saavedra; her parents, Esteban and Celia Ramirez; four brothers, Virgilio, Esteban, Estebanito, and Ruben. 

Mrs. Saavedra is survived by her six children, Nereida (Ricardo) Lopez, Felipe (Linda) Saavedra, Betty (Armando) Salazar, Nora (Julio) Salinas, Nelda (Carlos) Oliva, and Nidia (Edgar) Oliva; twelve grandchildren, Lilly (Matt), Felipe (Cindy), Berenice (Juan Angel), Edson (Vanessa), Andrea (Logan), Julio, Orlando (Marcela), Pablo, Carlos, Sebastian, Edgar, and Mauricio; six great-grandchildren, Valeria, Sofia, Isabel, Emma, Ellie, and Maddie; three sister, Virginia, Ernestina, and Lupita; numerous nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 6 p.m. prayer service on Monday, September 21, 2026, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Chapel service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at Legacy Chapels in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen. 

Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
