Patricia Ann Ramirez

EDINBURG – Patricia Ann Ramirez went to be with our Lord on Monday, August 31, 2026, in Edinburg. She was born on July 15, 1952, and grew up in Laredo, Texas. At 19 years old, she moved to the Rio Grande Valley, where she would build her life, raise her family, and begin a career that she truly loved.

After studying cosmetology in the Weslaco area, she found what would become a lifelong calling. For nearly 40 years, she taught cosmetology at Edinburg CISD, sharing a profession she loved with generations of students. Teaching was such a big part of her life, and over the years, countless students had the opportunity to learn from her, laugh with her, and experience the personality that made her so memorable.

And if you knew Patricia, chances are you remember the nails. Long and almost always red, often OPI’s Big Apple Red. They were simply part of her. Along with her charismatic personality, they became one of those little things people couldn’t help but associate with her.

But as much as she loved her career, family was at the heart of Patricia’s life. She and her husband, Arnoldo Ramirez, celebrated 54 years of marriage together, building a life centered on faith, family, and the memories they created over more than five decades.

At the center of Patricia’s life was also her love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her faith was deeply important to her, as was her church and the church community that became such an important part of her life. Her relationship with Christ was a source of faith and strength throughout her life, and her family finds comfort in knowing that she is now at home with the Lord she loved.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Alma Jaime.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Arnoldo Ramirez; her son, Jaime Ramirez and his wife, Norma; her daughter, Cory Flores; her grandchildren, Donnabella, Diego, Alejandro, Aliana, and Ariana; and her great-grandson, Dominic.

Patricia was the second oldest of five sisters and remained very close to her sisters, Linda, Diana, Norma, and Elsa, throughout her life. The bond they shared was an important part of who she was and remained strong through the years.

She leaves behind a family who loved her deeply, generations of students whose lives she touched, her church community, and so many people who will remember the things that made her uniquely her: her charismatic personality, her unmistakable red nails, the career she devoted so much of her life to, her devotion to her family, and her faith in Jesus Christ.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all those who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. Her family takes comfort in the promise of her faith and in knowing that this goodbye is not forever.

Visitation will begin at 3:30 p.m. with a 4 p.m. Celebration of Life service on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
