Ramiro Martinez, III

MCALLEN, Ramiro Martinez III, age 62, passed away on August 19, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, and love that will forever remain in the hears of his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He proceeds in death by his father, Ramiro Martinez Jr. ✝︎

Ramiro was a devoted husband, loving father, son, grandfather, and a man whose greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Leticia Martinez, and his children, Hunter A. Jennifer (Jorge), Ramiro IV (Jackie), Justin, Ashley, Amber (Alessandro), Andrea (Eric), and his mother, Sylvia Peña. He also leaves behind eight cherished grandchildren, who brought tremendous happiness and pride to his life. He is further survived by Elvira (Juan) Rendon, Sylvia, his mother-in-law, Olga V. Garcia, a brother-in-law, Edelmiro Garcia Jr (Nora), a sister-in-law, Cynthia (Isaac) Rocha, and ten nieces and nephews, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

For 29 years, Ramiro dedicated himself to his career as a Lineman/Senior Inspector at American Electric Power, earning the respect of those who had the opportunity to work alongside him. His commitment and years of service reflected the hardworking and dependable man he was.

Outside of work, Ramiro knew how to enjoy life. He loved hunting, sharing a cold beer with family, and, most of all, being surrounded by the people he loved. He was truly the spirit of every family barbecue and gathering-the one whose presence brought laughter, stories, and life to the occasion. When Ramiro was there, you knew there would be good times and memories to take home with you.

One of his favorite sayings perfectly captured the way he lived:

"I ain't here for a long time, I'm here for a good time"-George Strait

And Ramiro truly made his time count. He loved deeply, laughed often, worked hard, and treasured the moments spent with family and friends. Thought his time here was far too short, the memories he created and the love he gave will continue to live on through everyone whose life he touched.

Ramiro will be deeply missed, especially at the family gatherings where his laughter and unmistakable presence will always be remembered. His chair may be empty, but the stories, laughter, and memories he left behind will keep a part of him at every barbecue and every family celebration.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, August 28, 2026, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Mcallen, Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission.

Pallbearers: Bryen Cantu, Christopher Espinoza, Rick Vasquez, Isaac Escobar, Juan Ledezma, and Daniel Hinojosa.

Honorary Pallbearers: Edelmiro (Eddie) Garcia Jr, and Isaac Rocha.

Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
