Raquel Leal Longoria de Mendez, born on the third of April 1938 to Alfredo and Raquel Leal, passed away on August 21, 2014 in Chicago, Illinois. She leaves behind her caring and devoted husband, Cuitlahuac Mendez of Reynosa; children, Cuitlahuac Mendez Leal (Karen) of Chicago, IL., Andrea H. Mendez de Quintanilla (Patricio), of Mexico, Raquel C. Mendez Leal of Mexico, Alfredo Mendez Leal (Sagrario) of Iowa, and Santiago X. Mendez Leal (Patricia). She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren. A visitation will take place on Thursday, August 28th 2014 from 9:00am to 2:00pm in the main chapel at Legacy Funeral Home in Edinburg where at chapel service will commence at noon. Cremation will take place at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna, Texas. Inurnment of cremated remains will take place at a later date. The family is in the care of Legacy Funeral Home of Edinburg.
