Raul Ramiro Zamora

EDINBURG - Raul Ramiro Zamora, 91, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, May 23, 2026, in Edinburg. Mr. Zamora was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Andres and Leonor Zamora; two siblings, Elida Keith, and Rene Zamora; a son-in-law, Frank Perez.

Raul grew up in the Linn-San Manuel community and began helping his father farm and ranch by the age of eight, work he proudly continued throughout his life. More than anything, Raul loved his family. He cherished his wife of 62 years, Odilia, and found great joy in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He cared deeply for his community and was someone people could always count on for a listening ear, a helping hand, or words of encouragement. Raul had a playful sense of humor that easily brought smiles and laughter, especially to children. He loved hunting, fishing, bowling, and simple favorites like the color blue, chocolate, ice cream and cheeseburgers. Raul’s kindness, warmth, and love will continue to live on in everyone fortunate enough to have known him.

Mr. Zamora is survived by his wife, Odilia Luna Zamora; five children, Raul Zamora Jr., Ronaldo Zamora, Ada Perez, Ruben (Melissa) Zamora, and Andrea (Marvin) Villarreal; thirteen grandchildren, Andrew, Christian, Nicholas, Zachary, Ronnie Lee, Sebastian, Samantha, Arianna, Julianna, Kal-El, Matthew, Jonah, and Chloe, two great-grandchildren, Narah and Aria; three siblings, Hilda Guzman, Rudy Zamora, and Jose Andres Zamora Jr.; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary, Sunday, May 31, 2026, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m., Monday, June 1, 2026, at St. Anne Catholic Church in San Manuel. Interment will follow at El Rucio Cemetery in San Manuel.

Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
