Edinburg - Rene Garibay Gorena, 84, entered eternal rest Monday, September 18, 2023. Mr. Gorena is preceded in death by his parents, Victorino and Raquel G. Gorena; his son, Rene Gorena Jr.; 3 siblings, Eddie, Victor, and Yolanda Gorena; brother-in-law, Enrique Martinez.

Mr. Gorena is survived by his wife, Carmen Gorena; 2 daughters, Cynthia (Edgar) Cordon and Maritza (Matt) Garza; 4 step-children, Cathy (Juan Jr.) Delgadillo, Karen Contreras, Kristy Contreras, and Eddie (Gracie B.) Contreras; 4 siblings, Estella (Martin) Hutchinson, Minerva (Paul) Niaves, Graciela Martinez, and Gilbert Gorena.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a 2 p.m. payer service Friday, September 22, 2023, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg.

Funeral service are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
