ROGER BRUCE WILLIAMS
EDINBURG- Roger Bruce Williams, aged 61, passed on Wednesday March 1st, 2023, at Edinburg Regional Hospital due to heart complications. Roger called Edinburg, Texas, home for the last 5 years and developed warm relationships.
Roger was born September 3, 1961, in Visalia, California. He was one of many brothers and sisters and leaves several behind with his passing. Roger graduated from Visalia High School in 1978. He enlisted in the Army in 1979 and was stationed at ARRGT REAR FC FORT HOOD TX. Roger deployed and served in Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and worked as a 15R10 AH-64 ATTACK HELICOPTER mechanic while in the Army. Roger separated with a rank of E-6 in 2009 and spent the next several years trying out the climate and times in various cities Houston and Austin, Kaleen, and Cooper Cove TX, to name a few. Roger raved about his time in Virginia and had dreams of going back one day even if just for a visit.
Roger settled in Edinburg, Texas, and began to build a life in the sunshine and warm climate he loved. While it was not the farm life he knew growing up, it allowed him to get back to nature and enjoy the outdoors once again. Roger loved to fish, ride his motorcycle, and cook. Roger was known for his buttermilk biscuits, sense of humor, and having a big heart and a helping hand. While Roger was the quiet sort, you could count on him to be there when you needed a friend.
