SANTOS HERNANDEZ

ALAMO- Santos Hernandez, 65 of Alamo, Texas entered into eternal rest on June 30, 2023. Santos was preceded in death by his parents Severo Hernandez and Lupita Razo Hernandez and sister Graciela Hernandez. Santos Hernandez was born on April 4, 1958 to Severo and Lupita Razo Hernandez in San Juan, TX.

Santos was known by many titles honey, dad, grandpa, brother, tio, friend, shorty, mr. music man, saints, tito and pancho. All in which he loved and acknowledged every one of them. He was a loving, caring person that left so many memories with so many people even those he just happened to come across. As a young man Santos and his family worked the fields as migrant workers, once an adult he started truck driving and sacrificed being away from his family to provide for them. He then worked at several warehouses over the years as a supervisor/foreman. His last occupation was a courtesy driver for Charles Clark Chevrolet. He made sure his customers were taken care of by ensuring they listened to their favorite music by offering a wide selection of his home made USB mixes. This is where he got his nickname of Mr. Music man. He was known for his delicious B-B-Q, his jokes, for telling stories of his childhood memories and for always having a video camera to record special gatherings. One of his hobbies was woodworking, he made ice chests, Christmas trees, shelves and much more. If he saw something he liked , there he was making it the next day. He constructed his very own outside bar where he loved to sit, relax, listen to music and have a few drinks, but more than anything he enjoyed having a party that brought family and friends together. He loved to travel and visit new places with his family. Sometimes he didn’t have an option his eldest daughter would just tell him pack up and let’s go. Santos was a man who was very big on faith. Every Sunday he went to church and always made it known he prayed for everyone. When his sickness came around he said it doesn’t matter where you take me “es lo que dios quiere, estoy en las manos de Dios.”Even in sickness his faith never faltered.

Santos Hernandez is survived by his  lovely wife of 44 years, Alma Hernandez, four children, Alice Monique (John) Ledezma, Garrick Michael Hernandez, Jarita Lynn Hernandez and Brittney Lee Hernandez (Raynardo Magallanes); 13 grandchildren; 1 great-grandaughter 12 brothers and sisters Estella (Martin) Jimenez, Andres (Betty) Hernandez, Olegario (Irma) Martinez, Severo (Noelia) Hernandez, Gregoria “Goya” Hernandez, Juan (Paula) Hernandez, Rosa (Roberto) Compean, Elizabeth “Licha” (Jose) Escaname, Lupe (Olivia) Hernandez, Rosario “Chayo” (Jesse) Carrizales, Carmen Hernandez (Rose Mary Ramirez) numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and Friends.
