SARA H. PORTALES BISHOP - Sara H. Portales, 95, went to be with our Lord, Tuesday, August 15, 2017, in Bishop surrounded by her family. Born in Menard, Texas and formerly of Edinburg she had lived in Bishop, Texas most of her life. Sara is preceded in death by her husband Simon N. Portales; three brothers: Frank Hernandez, Leonardo Hernandez and Reynaldo De Leon. Mrs. Portales is survived by her two daughters, Juanita (Jesse) Torres and Mary P. (Carlos) Rosas; ten grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren and thirteen great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Dora Ramirez; three brothers, Agapito Hernandez, Vicente Hernandez and Manuel Hernandez; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary, Sunday, August 20, 2017, at Legacy Chapels 4610 S. Jackson Rd in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m Monday, August 21, 2017, at Legacy Chapels. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
