“Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies “Proverbs 31:10 Sarah Anafo Ayimbila, affectionately known as Nmah Anafo, was born to the late Ataluta Atugbiga and Akanpenge Ayariga on 6 th November 1948 at Ganbibigo in Ghana. She did not have the opportunity to receive formal education as she was raised as a shepherd girl, where she developed strength, resilience and leadership qualities. She was given in marriage to Mr. Ayimbila Aseba of Winkogo. They were blessed with eight children (four sons and four daughters) out of which two passed away, leaving six surviving children at time of her passing.
After the passing of her husband, she courageously took on the responsibility of raising all the children by herself, making sure all the children obtain all the necessary education that she was denied. Her greatest aspiration was to see her children succeed in life. In addition to raising her own children, she also took responsibility for ten other children, demonstrating exceptional compassion and humanitarian commitment She learned through her experiences with childbirth to become a skilled Traditional Birth Attendant (TBA) in her community, successfully delivering babies without any recorded case of maternal or child mortality.
Out of her deep love and strong connection with her children and grandchildren, she moved to live with them, supporting and assisting them in various ways. In December 2018, she relocated to her daughter, Stella Ayimbila in Texas, USA, where she lived, taking care of her two grandchildren until she was called to eternal glory by her maker on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.
Sarah Anafo Ayimbila was a staunch and devoted Christian who accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior. She dedicated her time serving God faithfully. Her character was without blemish, she was respectful, caring, kind, honest, loyal and jovial. She developed love and care towards everybody. These qualities earn her the respect and admiration of anyone she interacted with.
Sarah Anafo Ayimbila survived by six children: Paiul Ayimbila, Solomon Ayimbila, Regina Ayimbila Agile, Matilda Ayimbila Sapak, Stella Ayimbila Appiah and Eunice Ayimbila, twenty grandchildren, Several nephews, nieces and many loved ones, near and far to celebrate her life. Mother, you have indeed made a life, you have given your all, withholding nothing. Rest in peace our generational mother, our love, our pillar, our peacemaker, our role model. A role model or your daughters and a description of what your sons would want in a woman!
May the Lord keep your Soul till we meet again.
