Teresa Ramirez Castillo

MCALLEN - Teresa Ramirez Castillo, 84, entered eternal rest on Monday, June 30, 2025. Mrs. Castillo was preceded in death by her parents, Jose Auxilio Ramirez and Paula Pinon; one son Juan (Virginia) Castillo.

Mrs. Castillo is survived by her husband, Guadalupe Castillo; three children, Guadalupe (Diana) Castillo Jr., Jorge (Josephine) Castillo, Maricela (Kevin) Politte; nine grandchildren, Lily, Andrew, Angie, Johnny, Eric, Enrique, George, Iris, and Lisa; twelve great grandchildren, Abigail, Alanna, Jolynn, Juliana, Ava, Jackson, Tristan, Savannah, Avery, Noah, Aubrey, and Maverick; three siblings, Virginia (Uvalde) Flores, Eva (Miguel) Torres, and Olivia Ramirez; numerous nieces and nephews.

“Teresa was a devoted mother, wife, sister and friend. She dedicated her life to raising and caring for her sons, daughter and husband. She met the love of her life, Guadalupe, when she was sixteen, married him several years later, and remained happily married for almost 65 years. They spent each and every day supporting and caring for each other until the very end. As if raising 3 sons and a daughter wasn’t a full-time job, Teresa was also a foster parent where she welcomed well over 100 foster children into her home over a span of 25 years. Together with her husband, they cared and provided them with much needed emotional support and love. Not a day went by where she was not thinking of others and helping others, including her friends and neighbors. She was a true angel on earth.”

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary Sunday, July 6, 2025, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Mass will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025, at Saint Margaret Mary Catholic Church 122 West Hawk Avenue, Pharr, Texas.

Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
