Velma S. Lopez

MCALLEN - Velva S. Lopez, 92, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, in McAllen. Mrs. Lopez was preceded in death by her husband, Marcos Lopez; her son, Gilberto Rodriguez; two siblings, Elia G. Llanos, and Jose Isallias Sanchez.

Mrs. Lopez is survived by her four children, Elva Diana Vasquez, Gilma Roxela Mayorga, Elda Garza, and Marcos Lopez Jr.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Jose Eliberto Sanchez; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, December 5, 2025, at St. Jospeh Catholic Church in McAllen. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 6 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2025, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Interment of her cremated remains will take place at a later date. 

Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
