MCALLEN - Yolanda Araguz Canchola, 76, went to her eternal home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, in McAllen surrounded by her family. Mrs. Canchola was preceded in death by her husband, Luis Angel Canchola Sr.; her parents, Graciano and Jesusa Araguz; her two siblings, Irma Olivares, and Arturo Araguz.
Our mom was a woman of deep faith for her Lord, Jesus Christ. She was the greatest encourager and had the most positive attitude; she was our families biggest cheerleader. Mom was a life-long learner and had a hunger to continuously learn scripture and live it out. She never failed in displaying her love and support to family and friends, but most of all to her husband, children and especially her grandchildren. Her unwavering support was always on full display as she never missed an event where her kids or grandkids were involved. Mom had a deep love for life as she never failed to capture moments through photos and video. She always wanted to make memories.
Mom loved everyone she met. She always made you feel as if you were the most important person and once she finished talking to you, she would leave you more encouraged and loved. Her greatest loves were her husband, kids, grandkids and grandpets, She loved fiercely and passionately.
Although, we will miss our mom, we know she is with her forever love now, but most importantly she is loving and adoring her savior, Jesus. Mom truly lived out her faith and she exemplified what it means to die to self and take up your cross daily. Her purpose to worship Jesus was truly lived out. Mom was a woman of conviction and held steadfast to her values. Her life reflected and glorified her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Mrs. Canchola is survived by her three children, Loui (Michelle) Canchola, Debra Canchola, Lisa Canchola; four grandchildren, Clarissa, Elizabeth, Alexa, and Trey; two siblings, Graciano (Sylvia) Araguz Jr., and Cynthia Araguz; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 10 a.m. with an 11 a.m. Celebration of Life service at BT Church 2001 Trenton Road in McAllen. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to BT Church in McAllen.
